Internship training award
The training grant is intended to help students and postdoctoral fellows acquire new technical knowledge and innovative methodologies that are not available in their laboratory.
This award is offered to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows under the supervision or co-supervision of a member of the Centre SÈVE. This award covers 50% of travel expenses up to $ 1 000. The host institution may or may not be affiliated with Centre SÈVE.
The maximum scholarship amount for students of the Centre SÈVE enrolled in the AgroPhytoSciences program is topped up to a total of $ 2,000 and may cover all travel expenses.
For industrial training
With innovative research partnerships, a better understanding of the business world and the specific needs of research in industry become major assets in the training of our students.
To help students develop this expertise, the Centre SÈVE promotes training experiences in industry through the Industrial training award program. An award of $ 2 000 will be granted to complete an internship for a minimum of one month.
The maximum scholarship amount for students of the Centre SÈVE enrolled in the AgroPhytoSciences program is topped up to a total of $ 3,000.
International scholarships offered by the FRQNT and reserved for students of strategic clusters such as Centre SÈVE
In order to encourage the development of international activities of strategic clusters, FRQNT provides funds to support international travel opportunities for students doing a master’s or Ph.D. This program provides scholarships for students to complete an international internship with an average duration of six months (minimum two months and up to twelve months). This scholarship has a value of $ 2,500 per month for a maximum of $ 15,000. The internship must take place outside Quebec for students enrolled in a Quebec university or Quebec for students from abroad. Each strategic cluster may submit a maximum of two candidates in addition to nominate no more than one student from outside of Quebec. This international internship is for full time graduate students enrolled in a Quebec university and who are Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada or foreign student with a valid study permit to study in Québec.
Conference travel grant
This award is offered to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of the Centre SÈVE to give them the opportunity to participate in conferences at the provincial, national or international level, and to present posters or oral presentations on the results of projects within the Centre's research priorities.
The grants cover up to 50% of allowable travel expenses:
For a conference organized by a provincial scientific society the maximum allowance is:
- $ 350 for an oral presentation,
- $ 250 for a poster presentation.
For a conference organized by a national scientific society in Canada, (excluding Quebec), the maximum allowance is:
- $ 750 for an oral presentation,
- $ 500 for a poster presentation.
For a conference organized by an international scientific society, the maximum allowance is:
- $ 1,500 for an oral presentation,
- $ 1,000 for a poster presentation.
Competition for the best oral presentation
At the Centre SÈVE annual meeting, graduate students are invited to present their research work and to participate in the competition for the best oral presentation. Two $ 500 scholarships are awarded.
