Its research

The Centre SÈVE brings together about sixty researchers from seven Quebec universities: Université de Sherbrooke, Université Laval, McGill University, Université de Montréal, Université du Québec à Montréal, Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières and Université du Québec à Chicoutimi. This team also includes scientists from the public (Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada) and private sectors (Institut de recherche et de développement en agroenvironnement (IRDA)) as well as a large number of student researchers. The Centre SÈVE is defined in part by the extent of its multidisciplinary expertise and network.

Centre SÈVE research activities revolve around four axes:

Axis 1 - Diversity and plant performance

Axis 2 - Interactions between plants and their environment

Axis 3 - Sustainable production systems

Axis 4 - Socio-environmental aspects of plant production

In this regard, the Centre SÈVE develops technologies and bioproducts that are respectful to the environment. It also collaborates with experts from different disciplines to assess the environmental and social impacts of its research results.
