The international meeting in soil science "Soil Interfaces for Sustainable Development" will be held at McGill University from July 5 to 10, 2015. The conference is a joint event hosted by three organizations. The ISOM2015 symposium (International Symposium on Interactions of Soil Minerals with Organic Components and Microorganisms) of the International Union of Soil Sciences (IUSS) will be held in conjunction with the annual meetings of the Canadian Society of Soil Science (CSSS) and the Association Québécoise de Spécialistes en Sciences du Sol (AQSSS).
Joann Whalen is Co-Chair of the joint IUSS-CSSS-AQSSS 2015 Meeting. Other members of the Centre SÈVE are also involved in the organization, Jean-Philippe Bellenger and Robert Bradley.
The symposium "Biochar in Agriculture and Environment" will be held as part of session 15 of the meeting. The symposium will highlight advances in biochar. This session is open to the student competition oral and poster presentations. Suzanne Allaire is responsible for organizing the symposium and you can contact her directly for more information.
A workshop conducted by Léon-Étienne Parent and Dalel Abdi, "Compositional Data Analysis" is also scheduled on July 5 in the afternoon. The workshop is limited to 20 participants.
