Students from the Centre SÈVE are participating in a summer school in Morocco
From May 12 to 18, 2025, ten students from the Centre SÈVE participated in the UM6P-Centre SÈVE summer school in plant biology, held at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) in Benguerir, Morocco. Accompanied by professors Hugo Germain (UQTR) and Mohamed Hijri (UdeM), they joined sixteen students from Morocco and their chaperone, Mohamed Amine Chabane.
This summer school was designed to deepen scientific knowledge, broaden cultural horizons, and build an international professional network. Participants explored three major themes: biotic and abiotic stress, soil fertility, and molecular biology. The program included student presentations as well as visits to state-of-the-art agricultural laboratories and facilities (African Genome Center, ICARDA Genebank, etc.), experimental farms, and local cooperatives, all complemented by cultural activities.
A memorable and formative experience for the next generation of scientists here and abroad!
